The Music department in Coláiste Éamonn Rís is a vibrant and welcoming space for all students, where there is an opportunity to explore and develop your gifts and talents. Students can be found in the Music room before school, during school, during break, during lunch, after school, and even when they should be somewhere else! For many students, the Music department is more than just a place of learning – it’s a place of belonging.

TY Musical:

We are delighted to be back in collaboration with the Presentation Secondary School for our annual TY show. Transition year students are given the opportunity to audition in September, from there we create a cast and work together in the Presentation every Thursday morning. Show time is held around Easter – so keep your eyes peeled for tickets!

Christmas Concert:

Every year we give students an opportunity to show case their gifts and talents at Christmas. It is a magical evening – with a variety of acts; from bands and solo’s to comedy sketches and teacher acts. All students are welcome to take part.

Learning an instrument:

Junior Cycle music students learn the Ukulele and Guitar as part of the practical element of the course. Leaving Cert music students usually play an instrument outside of school. At the moment we have three bands that have formed within Senior Cycle music.
