Inspirational Visitor, Marie Casey Breen gave a talk to the TY’s today.Marie has just recently returned home from representing Ireland at Ironman World Series triathlon in Kona in Hawaii.This consists of a 4 km sea swim.. 180km cycle and full marathon.Marie is 62 years young and battled cancer just two short years ago.

CBS Wexford were the winners of the CIMA Business Quiz for the South East Region held in WIT on wed 12/11/14. The team members were 3rd Years Martin Kehoe, Angelo Miculescui, Conn Mc Intyre and David Corish and their teacher Mrs. Barry. The team were in second place at half time to St Kierans Colllege, Kilkenny and went on to take the title. The boys will go on to compete in the the National final in Thurles in April 2015. Congratulations Boys!!
“Stay Strong” Week- Monday 17th November – Friday 21st November. The annual CBS “Stay Strong” week will run from Monday 17th of November. This is a week where the school as a whole will be very active in promoting Positive Mental Health. There will be a number of talks, activities and workshops during this week for every student. We encourage everybody to get involved. There is a poster competition currently running in advance of the “Stay Strong” week. The theme is “Staying Well – Physically and Mentally”. 1st Prize €75, 2nd Prize €50 & 3rd Prize €25.
Congratulations Business Students! Abdullah Amin, Chris Cash, Kevin Reddy and Graeme Smythe received awards in Wit last Tuesday night for achieving an A grade in Junior Cert Business Studies higher Level. It was a great occasion for all the families and their teacher, Mrs Barry. Well done boys!

Students’ Council 2014/2015. The elections for this years members of the Students’ Council have been held and this years Council has been chosen. We wish all the boys elected the very best of luck in their new role. We trust they will be a great asset to the school providing a voice for the students. Cycle Against Suicide:
Coláiste Éamonn Rís was awarded the status of ‘Ambassador School’ by Cycle Against Suicide, in recognition of their exceptional commitment in the promotion of positive mental health and their efforts to break the cycle of suicide on the island of Ireland. School Redevelopment Go-ahead.
Work is ongoing on developing the plans for the school extension and refurbishment. Planning permission has been approved for the project. We are now hoping to proceed to the pre-tender stage.The project has been approved to go to construction in 2014. While the final time-line has to be finalised, we hope to be in a position to begin work on site as early as June 2014.
