Wexford CBS 1-2 Oatlands College
We were very unlucky to lose out to Oatlands College on Tuesday. After dominating the game and coming back from conceding an early goal, we fought back bravely in the poor conditions. Tadhg Brohan levelled the game early in the second half. On another day our domination would surely have produced a convincing win, but chance after chance went astray. Oatlands were awarded a free-kick with five minutes left. From 20 yards their attacker struck a shot that unfortunately hung in the blustery conditions, deceiving our goalkeeper and landed just under our crossbar. We battled on during the remaining minutes and had a strong penalty decision go against us as the referee waved play on.
To summarise the day, the conditions were atrocious for football, we somehow managed to lose a game that we totally dominated.
